Conversation Society: Has The Traditional Concept Of Privacy Become Obsolete?

Join us at the Haymarket Hotel on Wednesday, 2nd May at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of lively discussion and debate surrounding data privacy today and what the future will bring.

We have become accustomed to content being curated for our life-style, personal interests and location when we shop online, read the news on our mobile phone or are sent a special deal as we chat with friends on social media networks.  Is this brilliantly convenient or an invasion of our privacy? How can we embrace digital innovation but retain control over our online identity, reputations and security. Who should protect us online – governments, the online brands themselves or do we all need to take responsibility for our personal digital brand?

In this Conversation Society event, our expert speakers will delve into the issues surrounding data privacy today and what the future will bring. Our speakers will each speak for 10 minutes – no visuals, no PowerPoint, no charts, just conversation. Then it’s up to you.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Nick Jones, Head of Digital, Prime Minister's Office and Cabinet Office at UK Government
  • Georgina Nelson, Lawyer, Which?
  • Olivia Solon, Associate Editor at
